Weekly Swimming Lessons

Why your child should learn to swim with Frogs & Friends

There is no denying safety is always the primary reason why someone should learn how to swim.

We believe all children should be given the opportunity to perfect the art of swimming and as such we offer fun, varied and exciting lessons that are a perfect starting block for children of all ages and abilities.

  • Our enrolment process is very easy using our Frogtastic app.
  • Once installed, parents are able to sign up for weekly swimming lessons by simply paying for 4 lessons in advance. Future payments will be made automatically for 4 lessons in advance. This process will continue until such a time as you decide to stop.
  • You are welcome to cancel your membership at any time. However, it is important to bear in mind that fees are paid 4 lessons in advance. Therefore if a membership is cancelled after the second lesson, the remaining 2 lessons will still be available for you to attend. Refunds or credits will not be issued for the remaining lessons.

When do swimming lessons take place and how do I enrol?

We understand that families are often very busy and to cater for this we run lessons 7 days a week, both during the week and at weekends. Lessons take place at exceptional venues, where the water is warm and inviting. Lessons are 30 minutes in duration and take place during the term time.

To discover more about what we are able to offer, please download our frogtastic app. Once downloaded, you will be able to create a Frogs & Friends account and enrol into one of our fantastic courses.

WHAT AGE CAN CHILDREN START?

If your child is comfortable being in and around water, their journey into our swimming programme as an unaccompanied swimmer may start from just 3 years old.

If at 3 they are still a little apprehensive, we recommend enrolling into our parent and child class first until they become more confident in the water.

What if my child can already swim?

At Frogs & Friends we understand that many children are already able to swim. Therefore, we ask you to bring your child along for a free assessment to ensure they are allocated to the correct class to suit their ability.

What do they learn and what can I expect?

Once the child's swimming ability is assessed, parents are able to view the full syllabus, with detailed descriptions as to what each stage entails, inside the app. At Frogs & Friends we make sure that your child will be taught the fundamentals of all 4 strokes in a fun environment.

Frogs & Friends is a Community Interest Company and as such is committed to proving the very best service to our customers within the local community.

We provide a quality service and the way in which we take payment is both fair and flexible.

How do I enrol my child or children for the first time?

  • All parents are required to download our Frogs & Friends App. Once downloaded you will be able to register and book for a ‘Child Membership’ at one of our available venues.
  • In order for you to enrol you will need to add your credit or debit card details. Once these have been added a member of our team will contact you to discuss and confirm your class allocation based on the venue and day you have chosen to attend.
  • If your child is already able to swim and you would like to enrol in our swimming lesson programme we would need to carry out a quick assessment to see what class would be most appropriate for them.
  • On confirmation of your allocation your ‘Child Membership’ will be activated and your recurring payment will be scheduled.

What is a recurring payment?

  • All fees for swimming lessons are paid via recurring payments. Parents pay for 4 lessons in advance and then every 4 lessons thereafter.

Enrolling multiple children

  • It is important to note if parents wish to enrol multiple children they would need to set up a recurring payment for each child. This will then allow them to cancel each swimmer individually.

Teachers

All instructors at Frogs & Friends are either qualified ASA or STA swimming teachers, with a recognised life-saving qualification and a DBS check. Our teachers are fun, passionate and experienced. In addition to this, because Frogs & Friends is an Approved Training Centre for the Institute of Swimming and the Royal Lifesaving Society, excellence is assured.

How do I track my child’s progress?

Frogs & Friends appreciates the importance of keeping parents informed of their child’s progress. The swimming teachers will continually be assessing and recording children's attainment in their lessons. We use the latest developments in technology to record your child’s progress. You are able to track your child’s progress using the Frogs & Friends mobile app, and are able to view their next milestones to help towards their swimming development.

What do they need?

  • Swimming hat
  • Swimwear
  • Towel
  • Goggles (to be worn only once a child has reached Seahorse Bronze stage)
